Many mail programmes such as Microsoft Outlook provide limited function (client side) by way of filtering email and our web servers are configured to reduce such mail. We do however, highly recommend the use of Mailloop business automation software, which offers efficient filtering of email (via your mailbox i.e. before you actually receive it) together with options to manage mailing lists and newsletters. It operates in a similar way to our Mail Manager but Mailloop is ideal for single users.

The quest for greater profits is likely to cause search engines & directories to monetize even more of the links displayed on their search results pages via the PPC/CPC (Pay/Cost Per Click) model. LookSmart's recent switch to cost-per-click pricing for small business listings is the first real test of maximizing monetization this way.

Ensure you are not left out www.sur.co.uk/ppc &  www.sur.co.uk/webpositioning

Two thirds of those using the Internet in the UK have been online for more than three years according to a survey by FTPplanet.com but when it comes to speed of access, the most common method used is still Dial Up/ISDN. However, not for long it seems!

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) & Cable are being used and their combined total of penetration outweighs that of Dial Up/ISDN. Since the recent price reduction, take up for broadband services are increasing rapidly with the lack of telecommunications infrastructure now seen as the main hurdle to quicker adoption.

This trend will allow wider use of multimedia with richer graphics and animation but this must always be balanced with good content and navigation thus offering a site visitor an enjoyable experience.

UK Statistics: Dial Up/ISDN 36.4% - Cable 32.3% - DSL 22.2% - T1, T3 or greater 9.1%
