Once again I am happy to report that our clients and ourselves have experienced another period of steady growth in online activity during 2004. Much of this additional business has been contributable to our existing customers developing more complex projects in response to demand, which is very encouraging.
Content Management came of age in 2004 with most of our customers now enjoying the benefits of our Content Management System (CMS), which we continue to develop as our core product. With it being software developed in house, we can offer greater flexibility to give solutions tailored to match requirements as closely as possible with minimal compromise. This remains our main aim. With the combination of such systems and online marketing services, we continue to offer a powerful suite of online utilities for maximum return.
With online making up 20% of overall media consumption (Claims EIAA October 04), thoughts will be turning to development and promotional strategies for the coming year and we have a few considerations for you in this and future Newsletters. Our clients will be kept informed of emerging techniques well in advance via our client only section of these regular newsletters, so keep watching this space closely.
Broadband has matured with availability to 91% of the UK at the end of 2004. This allows websites to embrace rich media but careful application is still key.
Also in 2004 3G (Mobile Broadband) has been developing but based on our own experience has a long way to go as it is still only practical for use in major cities, mirroring the problems with the terrestrial roll out of broadband. Wireless networks have developed but not as quickly as predicted amid security issues.
We see this year being big again for Content Management, online Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and the desktop search allowing you to search simultaneously for files either located on your hard drive or on the web. The Blog (Web log) is also growing in popularity as a marketing and PR tool but again careful application and management is paramount. Affiliate Marketing & PPC is also maturing while the web continues to attract increased marketing spend.
On this note, we have and will continue to invest in our systems and people for the longer term and the support we receive from our clients is testament to this, for which we thank you. Here's to a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2005 to all.
David Morgan (Managing Director)
